How long does a residential AC installation take?

Most single‑room installations take 3–6 hours. Multi‑room or more complex setups may take 3-4 days. We confirm the exact timeframe during your free site survey.

Do I need planning permission to install air conditioning at home?

Planning requirements depend on the property, the system and the proposed outdoor-unit location. Some heating-and-cooling systems may fall within permitted development where the relevant limits and conditions are met. Listed buildings, conservation areas, flats/leasehold properties and some installations may require additional permission or consent. We can provide system and installation information to support your checks, but customers should confirm any required planning/freeholder approvals where applicable. Building Regulations may also apply.

How much does residential AC installation cost?

A single wall-mounted unit for a typical 30m²–35m² room starts from £2,400, depending on the brand you choose (Daikin, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, or Fujitsu) and how straightforward the installation is. You’ll always get a full written quote before any work begins.

Can you install AC in flats or apartments?

Yes — we regularly install AC in flats across London. We check outdoor unit placement, access, and any lease restrictions to ensure everything is compliant.

What type of AC system is best for my home?

For most homes, a wall‑mounted split system offers the best balance of performance, efficiency, and cost. Larger homes or open‑plan spaces may benefit from ducted or multi‑split systems. We recommend the ideal setup during your survey.

How noisy are modern AC units?

Modern indoor units are designed for quiet operation — some models can operate from around 19 dB(A), which is quieter than a whisper, though exact noise levels vary by model and operating mode. We can advise on the specific noise output for the system recommended for your property.

Will the installation cause any mess or damage?

No — we use dust sheets, protective coverings, and clean up thoroughly after installation. All drilling is done with dust extraction to keep your home tidy.

Do you offer warranties on residential installations?

Yes — all installations include a 5-year manufacturer warranty and our own 5-year installation workmanship guarantee for added peace of mind.

How energy‑efficient are the systems you install?

We install A++ and A+++ rated systems from trusted brands like Daikin, Mitsubishi, Toshiba and Fujitsu. These systems use far less energy than portable AC units and provide more consistent cooling.

Do installations qualify for 0% VAT?

Most residential air conditioning installations qualify for 0% VAT, since HMRC treats fixed, reversible air conditioning systems as air source heat pumps. This doesn’t apply to commercial installations. This relief runs until 31 March 2027, after which it reverts to 5% VAT. We’ll confirm your installation’s VAT treatment as part of your quote.
